Our frontline workers can now find a side hustle that fits their very particular set of skills: Ear piercing company Rowan employs registered nurses – with pediatric or hospital backgrounds – to perform at-home piercings for infants, kids and adults. Rowan founder, Louisa Schneider, tells Joe what inspired her to create the company and how it’s able to survive during the pandemic.

Louisa Serene Schneider is the founder & CEO of Rowan, Inc., a health and wellness lifestyle company focused on re-imagining the milestone of ear piercing by partnering with registered nurses. Rowan also operates a direct-to-consumer accessories and products business with a focus on safety and hypoallergenic products. Louisa serves on the board and audit committee for OTC Markets and served as CAO and Head of IR at Alder Hill Management LP. Prior to Alder Hill Louisa ran the Value Investing Program at Columbia Business School. Prior to her work at Columbia, Mrs. Serene Schneider was employed by Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan in several departments including Mergers and Acquisitions, Fixed Income Research and Trading. Louisa received a BS from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Columbia Business School where she focused on finance and entrepreneurship.
