This week’s Changemaker is Kelvin Jeremiah. Kelvin is a 15-year housing veteran, the President & CEO of the Philadelphia Housing Authority and oversees the day-to-day operations of the 4th largest housing authority in the country.

About Kelvin Jeremiah:
Kelvin has served as President and CEO of the Philadelphia Housing Authority since March 14, 2013, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the 4th largest housing authority in the country.

Despite shrinking federal resources, Mr. Jeremiah is creating or preserving affordable housing units in the city by partnering with public, private, nonprofit, and publicly-minded organizations to meet the huge demand for affordable housing.

His biggest initiative is the Sharswood/Blumberg Transformation Initiative in North Philadelphia that will produce over 1,200 units.

Prior to joining PHA, Mr. Jeremiah was the Inspector General for the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA).

Mr. Jeremiah received a Bachelor’s degree in History/Business Administration from Pace University, a Master of Arts in American Social History from Rutgers University, and a Master of Public Administration from American International College.
