This week, Steve welcomes the President & CEO of Apex Clean Energy, Mark Goodwin.  Apex is involved in utility-scale wind, solar, and storage facilities, distributed energy resources, and green fuel technologies, and plan on expanding the renewable frontier across North America. In part one, Mark shares how a former naval officer found himself running a renewable energy company, some of the big deals that Apex has announced recently, and how the pandemic effected their business.

About Mark Goodwin:
As CEO of Apex Clean Energy, Mark Goodwin leads the execution of corporate strategy. Since Apex’s founding, he has built a team of more than 250 professionals focused on creating customized clean energy solutions for businesses, government, utilities, and others. With Apex’s core values as a driving force, Mark has overseen the implementation of nearly 7 GW of wind and solar energy facilities, representing $9 billion of investment. He previously served as president and COO of Apex from 2009 to 2016.

Mark serves on the board of the American Clean Power Association (ACPA). From 2005 to 2009, he was a director at Horizon Wind Energy/EDPR. Prior to Horizon, Mark worked for the North American sales subsidiary of Vestas Wind Systems.

Mark is a former naval officer and helicopter pilot. He holds a BS in aerospace engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
