Steve concludes his talk with Kiran Kumaraswamy, the Vice President of Market Applications at Fluence a billion-dollar Siemens and AES energy storage tech company that has deployed the world’s first grid-connected battery energy storage system. About Kiran Kumaraswamy:
As Vice President of Market Applications at Fluence, Kiran Kumaraswamy manages a global team that identifies new markets and applications for energy storage, such as replacing natural gas plants, providing virtual transmission, or improving grid resilience. He also drives regulatory and policy solutions that create access to markets and support the global transition to a decarbonized electric infrastructure. Kiran has testified multiple times before the U.S Congress and FERC on a range of subjects and serves as Vice Chair of the board of directors at the U.S. Energy Storage Association (ESA). Prior to joining Fluence, he worked as a Senior Manager at ICF International advising private sector clients on wholesale power market and transmission issues. Kiran holds an MS in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Madras, India.
